Hugh Eastwood joins Progressive Future with a background in the law, government service and community development.
A naturalized American, Hugh immigrated to the United States in 1995 and holds degrees in history and law from Yale.
Hugh served as director of a community development corporation in New Haven, Connecticut, and helped revitalize that city's downtown with new retail and housing development. After September 11, 2001, he moved to New York City to work for Governor Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg, serving as planning project manager for the World Trade Center Site design competition.
After law school and an internship with the Manhattan District
Attorney's Office, Hugh moved to Los Angeles to practice law at
O'Melveny & Myers LLP. His work included public policy research and advising for Warren Christopher, the 63d Secretary of State.
Hugh speaks some French and Spanish, and enjoys traveling, especially to Canada and the British Isles to see his family. He is an avid outdoorsman, loves music, theatre and photography, and wishes he had a dog.
