Taxpayers are spending $200 billion a year for the war in Iraq, while companies like Halliburton and Blackwater waste billions through fraud and mismanagement. Meanwhile, the Bush Administration won’t fund healthcare for 10 million children. So, we're working to cut corruption and waste in Iraq, and use those resources for our priorities, like healthcare, education, and energy. As a member, we'll keep you in the loop on our progress, invite you to help in whatever way you can, ask your opinion on the issues and our strategies, and even give you a chance to vote on who should sit on our board of directors.
Petition Text
To: Halliburton CEO David Lesar
Blackwater CEO Erik Prince
Your
corporations have been exposed in the news as defrauding the US
government and putting our troops at risk. You deny the accusations.
Prove it. I urge you to support the War Profiteering Prevention Act of
2007, Senate Bill 119 and prove to the American public that your
corporation is not stealing our tax dollars. Support this bill’s
provisions that:
Criminalize war profiteering
Prohibit fraud against the US government in war contracts
Provide stiff enforcement penalties against violators - up to 20 years in jail and $1,000,000 in fines
