It’s Saturday afternoon, and 96 Hours for Change: Progressive Future’s Obamathon is heating up. Teaming up with coalition partner Environment America, we are mobilizing thousands of volunteers to talk to tens of thousands of voters.

96 Hours for Change is based upon two simple concepts:
· We need to turn out every last progressive voter this year to be 100% sure to put Sen. Obama over the finish line (confirmed by recent experience); and
· The best way to turn out voters is face-to-face contact in the final hours before the election—especially from a neighbor volunteering because of passion for the cause (confirmed by academic research).
So, over the past several weeks, we’ve been recruiting volunteers at the door, online, at rallies and events, and even bugging our friends and families. Most of these folks will be set up to talk to their own neighbors. But, here in Colorado, we’ve had volunteers come in from California, Oregon, Washington, DC and more.
