Barack Obama’s budget will help get our economy moving again. It also lays the groundwork for progress on key priorities: a big investment in health care reform; money to fix our schools and prepare the next generation for the challenges (and opportunities) of the new century; and important groundwork for attacking global warming.
If Obama’s budget doesn’t pass the Senate next week, our best (and maybe only) chance at pushing forward on a strong progressive agenda will go up in smoke.
Insurance giants, energy companies, and lots of DC lobbyists would like nothing better, so they’re teaming up with right-wing Republicans to try to drag this critical proposal down.
We can’t let them. We voted for change in November and now’s our chance to deliver.
So, please take a moment today to call your Senators and urge them to support President Obama’s budget.
