This is clean coal?

The recent toxic spill from a coal fired power plant in Tennessee further confirms what we already know about coal -- it's not clean, and no amount of trying to clean it makes it safe or sustainable.

It's time to tell President-elect Obama that we need to invest in clean, green technologies, not clean coal. Ask him to reconsider his position on clean coal by signing the petition below. We'll send the petition to him and his energy and environmental advisors.

Dear President-elect Obama,

During your campaign, you supported investment in clean coal technology. However, coal is not a clean energy source, and clean coal technology does not make coal a safe or sustainable energy solution, as we saw with the recent toxic spill in Tennessee. Please reconsider your postition on clean coal, and focus on investing in clean, renewable energy sources. Thank you.
