Give It Back, Larry
Even when times
are good, it’s hard to believe that corporate CEOs can look you in
the eye and tell you that they’re worth their outrageous $10
million, $50 million, $100 million or more pay packages. But now, with the economy waning, it is absolutely ridiculous that CEOs like Larry Mizel, of MDC Holdings, Inc., can rake in a $2 million bonus despite million dollar losses for his company and his shareholders. This is just
another outrageous example of a corporate culture that is out of
control and out of touch with most Americans. Join Progressive Future's 'Give It Back' Campaign and send Mr. Mizel a message that exorbitant bonuses in the midst of a suffering economy are irresponsible to the community from which he reaps such profits. Ask him to take his bonus -- and give it back. Petition Text: Dear Mr. Mizel:
You're a business leader. I know that you have been a longtime supporter of many worthy causes. Right now, our economy is heading into a crisis – and so is your company's value. Please show that you are committed to an economically secure and fair America by giving back your bonus to society. I don't get rewarded when my employer's performance suffers. Perhaps you should not either. You're in the homebuilding business. So you know the value of having a home. Please donate your bonus to those who don't have a home by supporting homeless shelters in Denver and other cities hit hard by the housing crisis.
