Progressive Future will tackle core progressive issues such as health care, education, global warming, and the war in Iraq. We’ll work to make sure these issues are addressed by our elected officials, and we will hold them accountable while they are in office.
Progressive Future is seeking experienced Logistics Staff to join our central management team. The Logistics Staff is responsible for overseeing and strategically directing the set up of new campaign offices and ensuring field staff have all the tools necessary to operate effectively in 60 metro areas. The Logistics Staff will work closely with the state directors and budget department to develop a systems-wide approach that keeps the total cost of operation under budget and still provides appropriate resources for the campaign staff. To meet these goals, the Logistics Staff will manage a team of administrative and support staff working to set up offices & meet all logistical needs in a short period of time and with a minimal amount of resources.
Job Responsibilities will include:
• Securing physical office space for campaign offices in 60 metro areas (outreach to landlords, complying with legal standards & budget guidelines)
• Overseeing the installation of telecom & utilities (manage contracts & guarantee timely service within budget)
• Ensuring computers, printers and other technological needs are provided
• Allocating and managing campaign resources & supplies according to changing needs
• Monitoring the quality, cost and efficiency of materials and supplies
• Keeping organized records of supplies, contracts and all campaign logistics
• Liaising with staff and negotiating with suppliers to ensure that campaign needs are met
• Anticipating logistical problems and producing solutions
Qualifications
We’re looking for a results-driven and detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to our progressive mission and grassroots approach to change. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant professional campaign experience. The Candidate must work well under pressure and deadlines while keeping a sense of humor, be well-organized, a self-starter, flexible, creative, and able to work quickly and cooperatively on several projects at one time. Strong team building and staff management skills are necessary. We are looking for candidates interested in making a 2-year commitment to the organization.
