Building The Progressive Movement

Building for the long haul

It’ll take more than progress on dozens of separate issues to bring about the progressive future we’re all working towards.  To get there, we have to self-consciously build a movement—a tidal wave of active citizens who care not just about their favorite issues, but about coming together to take America in a new direction.

This means building infrastructure, analyzing our strengths and weaknesses as a whole, and cooperating rather than competing.  It means prioritizing, acknowledging difficult trade-offs, and making more efficient use of existing resources—all while reaching out to more Americans to grow the pie.

Progressive Future Faculty Initiative

The right wing has poured billions of dollars into a network of think tanks that pump out flawed policy ideas. Meanwhile, we’re making poor use of the biggest think tank in the world—the network of (largely progressive) faculty at the U.S.’s leading universities.
