Petition for Progressive Taxation
President Bush and right-wing leaders in Washington have made it clear that they favor welfare for Wall Street, but not Main Street. While irresponsible investment banks like Bear Stearns get bailouts from the government, average Americans are faced with losing their homes and jobs, yet are offered no substantial relief. It's time to fight for our rights to economic security. We live in the wealthiest nation on earth, and yet the select few who rake in grossly exorbitant investment returns refuse to share fairly with the rest of us. It's time for the new Gatsbys to pay their fair share.
