<title>Bush in Iraq...Forever?</title>
<link>http://www.progressivefuture.org/recent_outrage/bush-in-iraq___forever</link>
<description>4/16/2008. It&#x26;rsquo;s outrageous enough that President Bush railroaded the country into the Iraq war. Now, even as he touts a plan to scale back the length of troop deployment &#x26;mdash; a promise he knows he will never have to keep &#x26;mdash; behind the scenes he is starting negotiations with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to keep U.S. troops in Iraq long after he leaves office. It&#x27;s just business as usual for the Bush administration. Bush and his cronies have consistently ignored the Constitution and its checks and balances by waging a secret and illegal &#x22;war on terror.&#x22; They&#x26;rsquo;ve eavesdropped on American citizens and tortured Iraqi detainees. And now, they&#x26;rsquo;re trying to tie the hands of the next President. The Bush Administration&#x27;s mishandling of the war in Iraq has cost Americans more than we can afford in lives, treasure and security. We can&#x26;rsquo;t let President Bush hijack the next election by committing America to years, even decades, more of the Iraq war after he leaves office. Please join Progressive Future to safeguard our future tax dollars, international security and the sanctity of the constitutional groundwork laid by our founding fathers. <title>Who can hear you now?</title>

<description>4/8/2008. Bush and Cheney have proposed to let the telephone companies off the hook for releasing private info to the government. Thanks to close ties to the telecomunications industry, the Bush / Cheney adminsitration is using your phone company as their private phone-bugging system. We need to tell the president to uphold our personal freedoms. . . .</description>
