Turning hate into hope - 2008-07-16
What is it about 9/11 that makes right wingers use it as an excuse to do all the things they were going to do anyway?
First, they used it as an excuse to invade Iraq, even though Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Then, they used it as an excuse for big tax cuts for the rich and powerful, even though that was there plan all along. Now, this guy, a conservative who would never vote for a Demorcat anyway, is using it as an offensive and disrespectful excuse to vote against Democrats who, by the way, weren't the ones who were in power when the World Trade Center was attacked and weren't the one who so badly mishandled the aftermath.
It's time for a new direction for America — one where hateful people like the man who sponsored this billboard are no longer in power — and one where we're focused on bringing the troops home from Iraq, ensuring health care for all Americans, improving our education system and taking action to tackle global warming.
